1 Dance Event Report #3 Your Name Stephanie Pham Date of Event: Date of Report: November 5, 2010 November 10, 2010 Name of Event, Performance and/or Company Ballroom Performance Group Friday Night Dance Party What type(s) or genre(s) of dance was (were) presented? I saw various styles of ballroom dancing: west coast swing, east coast swing, tango, cha cha cha, salsa, rumba, waltz, samba, etc. I’m sure that there were more, but there are so many that it was difficult to keep track of. How did you participate? The actual dance party was scheduled to be from 8pm- 10:30 pm, but before every party, there is a free dance lesson, so I went an hour earlier to learn some dance moves because I was told that coming for the lesson really helps for the party. On this particular night, the lesson was for east coast swing. Everyone got into a circle and we learned a couple of moves, switching partners every now and then. When the actual dance party began, I danced a few times with a number of partners. It’s not required for everyone to dance, but it was a very relaxing atmosphere; I could dance however I wanted, whenever I wanted. What did you expect the event to be like?
