Jeane Lee 7/22/11 Soci 1 Weekly Reflection 4 The topic of the United States Census was a very interesting area for me because of my personal experiences with the 2010 Census especially in the Asian Pacific Islander community in the Los Angeles area. While we were in the group discussion in class I felt as if, at least within my particular group, no others really had an opinion about the census besides the one that I had presented. Other groups had expressed the questions of reasons and points behind the census and whether or not it really is fruitful for the country or particularly any region, however I think otherwise. I feel that it is very important to be active and a part of the census because of the needs of the community. I feel for the API community especially in the greater Los Angeles area because the census ultimately is a marker to fuel the needs of what the community needs. By people not being documented in any way or not being accounted for, there are funds that are not granted by the
