The case study I chose was 8.4 Behavior Management Missing the Mark. In this case study, the school has experienced an increase of behavior issues throughout the school. As a resolution, the principal has implemented a new behavior system that includes rewards for positive behavior. Mr. Rhett, along with other teachers at the school, have not seen an improvement in several students regarding the change and feels as though it is ineffective. Many teachers are hesitant to refer students as being labeled for over-referring. (Gorski & Porthini, 2018, p.74). Mr. Paulson overheard Mr. Rhett’s sentiments and offered to share a possible solution to the behavior issues. Mr. Rhett identified that there were two students in particular who caused disruption in the classroom. Mr. Rhett states that since the two students receive special education services and he’s cautious to refer to them to the office (Gorski & Pothini 2018,p.75). Mr. Paulson offered to conference with the two students since he was rather successful
