220.127.116.11.5.6.7.Course DescriptionThis course will assist students in their successful transition to the School of Business at CentennialCollege by giving them an opportunity to build self-confidence and enhance their ability to achieve theiracademic, career and personal goals.This course was designed to help students achieve mastery of college-level learning skills, attitudes andstrategies that they will need to be successful in their academic, professional/business careers andpersonal life. Emphasis will be on the development of effective learning and study habits, researchtechniques and self-management strategies.Topics will include the following: time management, listening and note-taking, making the most ofstudying from textbooks, communications (both oral and written), problem-solving & critical thinking, testpreparation, use of College resources, membership on a team, and research techniques (on-line).Program OutcomesSuccessful completion of this and other courses in the program culminates in the achievement of theVocational Learning Outcomes (program outcomes) set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges andUniversities in the Program Standard.
