Unipolar vs. Bipolar First of all Unipolar affects more women than men. Bipolar doesn’t discriminate it affects both men and women. Unipolar comes later in life and Bipolar can be seen any time after 18. Sleep is affected by both of these with Unipolar u don’t sleep or you have a very hard time falling asleep. With bipolar you have hypersomnia with excessive tiredness and difficulty waking up in the morning. With these two things they can affect appetite with Unipolar you have loss of appetite and not very much desire to eat. With bipolar you often binge eat and have cravings for carbohydrates may also alternate with loss of appetite. With Unipolar and bipolar your activity level is affected to. With Unipolar you are agitated pacing and restless is a lot more common. With bipolar you are inactive and there is a slowing down of movements. With Unipolar and bipolar your mood is affected as well with Unipolar you have a feeling of sadness hopelessness and worthless. Now with bipolar you feel a lot of the same emotions but add guilt to the list but guilt is often high on the list. With Unipolar
