Chapter 5 o VLOOKUP value,array,column,[range] Value o The data you want to lookup  Array o The range containing the data that you want to search to find the look up value Column o The number of the column containing the data you want to retrieve 1-first column 2-second column…etc Range o Type of look up you want to perform True-greatest value that doesn’t exceed the value False-exact match  Use when the first column of the lookup table contains the data you are looking up, also  called the key data, and corresponding information you want to find is in one of the columns  to the right of the key data column  o HLOOKUP Searches a horizontal lookup table in which data is stored in rows instead of in columns (value,array,row,[range]) Value o The data you want to look up Array o The range containing the data you want to search Row o The number of the row containing the data you want to retrieve Range o Type of look up you want to perform True-greatest value that doesn’t exceed the value False-exact match  o LOOKUP (value,lookup_vector,result_vector) value you want to look up Lookup_vector o Location of the data you want to look up o Range of only one row or column that contains the value you want to look up Result_Vector o Data you want to retrieve, range of only one row or column that contains the data  you want to retrieve Looks up the greatest value that does not exceed a specified value anywhere in the table or  range  o INDEX Used for a two dimensional table (reference,row,column,area)

Reference o The range containing the data you want to find Row o The number of the row in the range Column o Column in the range you referenced in the first argument Area o Part of a nonadjacent range referenced in the first part o CHOOSE (index_num,value1,value2…) Returns a value or a range for up to 29 different values Index The function returns the first value from the list  Less than one or greater than the last value in the list it displays  #value Fraction- truncated to the lowest integer before being used   o ISBLANK Refers to an empty cell Chapter 6 o RATE (NPER, PMT, PV, FV, TYPE) Solves for the interest rate per period o NPER (RATE, PMT, PV, FV, TYPE) Solves for the number of periods o PMT (RATE, NPER, PV, FV, TYPE) Solves for the value of the payment per period o PV (RATE, NPER, PMT, FV, TYPE)
