2 THE CANADIAN BUSINESS ENTERPRISE  SYSTEM All societies have an economic system to  determine: What  goods & services are produced/  distributed by society &  how  they are  produced/distributed. The Canadian economy is a mixed system:  Essentially  capitalist  but with a strong  government  influence.

5 GOVERNMENT AS GUARDIAN OF SOCIETY  &  BUSINESS OWNER – CROWN CORPORATIONS CCs ‘natural monopolies’, e.g. Hydro, Gas… CCs protect & provide services that private  enterprise might not wish to pursue (Canada Post) CCs allow for more government control (OLG, LCBO)
