This bill also allows tribes to make their own decisions regarding the size of the grants needed to “acquire, rehabilitate, and construct housing” (Current Legislation, n.d.). This simplified the housing assistance system previously available to Native Americans. While this bill is a long ways away from permanently solving the crisis of housing available to Native Americans, it is certainly a step forward in the right direction.
