GRADING RUBRIC FOR WRITTEN REPORT Creative Collaborations (AAD 199) --- Voelker-Morris, 2008 Evaluation Criteria Excellent (80 – 100) Good (79 – 70) Fair (69 – 50) Unacceptable (<49) -C1- Content (30 points) o Complies with all parts of the assignment. o Demonstrates thorough understanding of material. o Demonstrates high level of critical analysis. o Includes observations, evaluations, conclusions, demonstrations, and/or applications that go beyond mere description and indicate a high level of personal involvement and innovative thinking. o Exhibits logical reasoning in order to shed new light on topics included. o Exhibits sensitivity to audience. o Makes clear an overall purpose. o Includes rich and relevant details. o If applicable, uses reference sources o with sophistication and in a variety of ways. o Complies with most parts of the assignment. o Demonstrates good understanding of material. o Demonstrates good level of critical analysis. o Includes observations, evaluations, conclusions, demonstrations, and/or o applications that go beyond mere description and indicate personal involvement. o Exhibits logical reasoning. o Exhibits awareness of audience. o Strongly suggests an overall purpose. o Includes relevant and interesting details. o If applicable, integrates sources ethically and effectively. o Complies with the main parts of the assignment. o Demonstrates average understanding of material. o Demonstrates attempts to analyze. o Merely describes or provides basic information on the topic. o Exhibits logical reasoning for the most part, but may contain one or two examples of faulty reasoning. o Indicates an overall purpose, though to a less extent than is expected. o Attempts to include several instances of relevant details. o If applicable, integrates sources ethically. o Does not comply with the main parts of the assignment. o Does not demonstrate adequate understanding of material. o Does not demonstrate critical analysis. o Provides few, if any, relevant details on the topic. o Does not show evidence of logical thinking. o If applicable, source use may be problematic. 1
