ENG 310 Writing and Reading Across the Curriculum Essay #1 Marriage and Family in America Prompt:  Write an essay focusing on the development of the model of marriage.  Draw on at least three  of the readings we have covered and discuss how the model  has changed over the years; explain the effect of including love in the model and  people’s expectation and views of marriage. Your purpose in writing this essay is  to synthesize or combine information  in a coherent manner showing how ideas  and or support from the readings are related to one another. Audience:  Write for a group of your peers who are not in this class and who have  not read your source material. Length:   750 to 1000 words; 3 to 4 pages (typed, 12 font, Times New Roman,  Top/Bottom 1” margins).  First Draft Due: Sept 28.  You should have at least two pages for the first draft
