Unit 11: Research ProjectTopic: The demand for electric bicycle in the UK
1.1 IntroductionThere is no denying that electric bicycles have brought a lot of utility to the users since theyappeared in 1985. Electric bicycles are favored all over the world by the safety, convenienceand special trunk. Their environment is good. On this day, with the improved battery systemtechnology, electric bycles have longer rides, the recharging cycle lasts between 1 and 2 days.In addition, the compact, refined and water-resistant frame design technology makes electricbycles completely visible in the eyes of consumers, especially students, students and women. The bones of electric bicycles are made of the finest alloys combined with components madeof polymer compounds that make them lightweight and highly durable. Nowadays, there area lot of electric bycles that have been designed to upgrade to remove the pedals that makethem smaller and save a lot of parking space, which is a problem for every family in the city. Moreover, the use of electric bicycles does not require the driver's license, but the velocity oftravel is also relatively fast, which is also an advantage for electric bicycles to be chosen bymany people. With these factors, electric bicycles are becoming a popular alternative tobicycles and motorcycles.1.2 BackgroundNowadays, using individually owned automobiles are triggering a lot of tensions over themetropolitan environment and transport infrastructure in UK. As a result of development anda rise in population, there has been a swell in the number and use of electric (electric twowheelers- three and four wheelers-electric cars, electric motor bicycles and electric bicycles)and conventional automobiles. The UK national traffic Safety Committee (VNTSC) providedstatistics showing that a total of 2.2 million vehicles got registered at the close of December2014 while there were roughly about 43 million motorbikes in the city. The amount of carsavailable surpassed the number projected by the UKese government by the year 2020 [1].From the year 1990, the widespread use of motorcycles has contributed to air contaminationand traffic gridlock big towns like Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi city. The use of electric bicyclesin UK by the year 2015 had risen to about 2.5 million. Electric three and four-wheelerbicycles were invented in large towns in the year 2000 but by November 2015, more than1000 electric vehicles were in use in these cities and figure keeps rising extensively rising onan annual basis. The invention of electric cars has kicked off and is presently in progress. The rising approval of electric automobiles produced certain queries to legislators and theruling class and they include: whether EVs should be fostered so as to minimize the numberof individual motorbikes for a better transport system in UK or if EVs serve as suitable
substitute for cars and motorcycles as a way of transportation because they minimizeenvironmental contamination (CO2 discharge and noise) and conserve fuel? It is important
