The fact that New Zealand could position itself as different and authentic, made it a great place to relax and let go, which led to the tag line “100% pure.” This led to an increase in tourism, because people were motivated to come here. 2) Describe and give an example of the need (you do not need to know whether they are “cognitive preservation”, etc.): a. for consistency – this is active and internal, a basic desire to have all facets of oneself consistent with each other. b. for attribution – this is active and external- this set of motives deals with our need to determine who or what causes the things that happen to us and relate to an area of research called attribution theory. To know who is responsible. c. to categorize- passive and internal, people have the need to categorize and organize the vast array of information and experiences they encounter in a meaningful yet manageable way. d.
