1 ACCOUNTING 302-02, Fall 2011 SYLLABUS Class Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:00~12:15 Location: HUM119 PREREQUISITES: ACCT301 with minimum grade of C. REQUIRED TEXT: “Intermediate Accounting” by Kieso, Weygand & Warfield. (13th edition). RESOURCES: Instructor: Amy (Chun Chia) Chang, Ph.D. Office: Science, 342 E-mail: [email protected] Office phone no: 415-405-0963 Office hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:50 a.m. ~ 10:50 a.m. 12:50 p.m. ~ 1:50 p.m. 5:00 p.m. ~ 5: 30 p.m. or by appointment iLearn : You must log onto iLearn ( https://ilearn.sfsu.edu/login/index.php ) to access your grades electronically. You can also access this syllabus , power point slide handouts, and other announcements through iLearn. Students should regularly check the iLearn website for updated announcements. COURSE GRADES: The course grade will be determined by points earned as follows: One Written Project 140 points (7%) Homework Assignments 160 points (8%) Three Quizzes (2 out of 3) 200 points (10%) Exam #1 500 points (25%) Exam #2 500 points (25%) Final Exam 500 points (25%) Total 2000 points (100%) A= 92% and above A- = 90~91% B+ = 88%~89% B=82%~87% B- = 80%~81% C+ = 78%~79% C=72%~77% C- = 70%~71% D+ = 68%~69% D= 62%~67% D- = 60%~61% F= 59% and below HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS: Homework is assigned for each chapter. The homework assignments will be posted on iLearn . Students will complete the homework online. The deadline for each homework assignment will be specified in the class schedule. No late submission will be accepted . WRITTEN PROJECTS: There will be 1 written project assigned during the semester. Detailed information on written project will be announced in the class during the semester. No late submission is accepted . QUIZZES: There are going to be three quizzes during the semester, but only the highest two quiz scores will be counted toward your final grade. No make-ups are allowed for quizzes.
