Leadership Essay When asked what leadership is to me, I typically begin thinking of traditional icons of both good and bad men such as Hitler, Stalin, Washington, and Lincoln. These men were all great leaders who displayed leadership in several ways whether it was for good or not. In fact, I grew up where leadership was taught and valued. It was even expected of me to grow into such roles in high school, FFA, student governments, and other areas like summer leadership camps. As in the book The Leaders We Need , I would view a leader as traditional goal setters, people motivators, and visionaries. However, I always felt like there was one other aspect of leadership that was lost to me and everyone else. While being a leader and holding an office in various groups I noticed that we tended to only have the same group of members each year with very few additions. We were only focused on what we are doing with our goals, motivations, and ideas. The first aspect of leadership that I normally cohere to is that of a goal
