University of the People SOC 1502 Introduction to Sociology Learning Journal unit 1 Philosophy of Max Weber 25 th June, 2020 According to Little, Vyain, Scaramuzzo, et al (2014), Max Weber, is a sociologist, philosopher, and economist who brought an assumption of a realist stance for society, he also incorporated a concept which was a religious aspect of being a Protestant in his theories in regards to society and economics, he believed the key to moving forward is the disenchantment of the world; his gave an example that the East is so much advanced than the West, but from time to time, the West’s modernization has put it first, because of their rationalism and the East keep holding on to “magical” thoughts (Little et al., 2014). Surely, this disenchantment would bring about creating a reason, logical thinking, and rationalization which would go a long way to become progress.
