Unformatted text preview: Igwe, 1 After reading Peter Goin’s Visual Literacy , when analyzing an image one can take into account different facts and different truths. A fact is verifiable and normally taken for face value. A truth is based on culture and shared values. In the photograph of Ortiz and Mayweather during their fight there are different facts and different truths that speak to the picture as a whole. One can analyze the image and be able to tell a story based on the different facts and truths. It is fact that in the image that one man is hitting another. Mayweather is the focal point and most viewers would sympathize with Ortiz for taking the punch of Mayweather. The man to the right expression gives one of shock. It is also fact that this is a fight shown to the public and the space provided is limited by rope forming a shape. The picture appears to be cropped with the man on the left having his partially still in the photo. Each fighter has on a different color pair of shorts. Ortiz shorts are green, red, and white while Mayweather’s shorts and black and orange. of shorts....
