Igwe, 1 Self-Evaluation of Response 1 In evaluating my essay exam regarding Foucault and Moore’s idea of “greatest potential”, I realize some of the choices I made supported my argument but also were written in a foggy manner. The initial points that assisted my reflection addressed the choices I made and exactly why I made them. I often write what I am thinking and forget that in order to convey my thought; I must be thorough and concrete. The essay exam rubric that is used to grade the exam and the points table both allow me to understand the approach I should be taking to present a strong and effective essay. Each piece of the rubric fits particularly with a section of the grading criteria. My thesis statement was given after I gave an introduction of the theme, being Moore’s meaning of disadvantaged youths’ “greatest potential” to the book as a whole. This gives an understanding of my argument of how his meaning conflicts with Foucault without going into detail. My thesis is clear in understanding the stance Moore takes on the meaning of “helping” and “greatest potential” but I purposely kept the conflicting thought of Foucault vague to adhere
