By recognizing that business growth does not greatly benefit for people's development and the environment. In 2010, Unilever formulated ‘The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan’ (USLP), to make sustainable development become popular , as well as decouple growth from their environmental footprint and increase positive impact on society. The plan has three major objectives to accomplish, combined with nine commitments and priorities that cover Unilever’s cultural, environmental and economic success throughout the value chain. To analyze three big goals which can develop the sustainable living plan, Unilever ... Unilever’s first aim to improve health and well-being for more than 1 bilion population, they focus on two components: health & hygiene and improving people nutrition... a) Health & Hygiene . - Reasons : Lack of safe drinking water, and poor sanitation and hygiene, cause millions of preventable deaths each year – particularly among children. Vision : By 2020, Unilever will help more than a billion people take action to improve their health and well-being. This will help reduce the incidence of life- threatening diseases like diarrhoea, which is one of the main causes of deaths in children under five. Achieved targets : - By the end of 2018 , Unilever had reached 1.24 billion people through their programmes on handwashing, safe drinking water, sanitation, oral health, self-esteem and skin healing. Reduce diarrhoeal and respiratory disease through handwashing. Lifebouy’s handwashing programmes reached 1 billion people over 2010- 2018. Improve oral health. Signal - 83.5 million people reached with oral health programmes since 2010. On-plan targets : Provide safe drinking water. Unilever PureIt! – 55 million people reached with safe drinking water: 106 billion litres since 2005. Improve access to sanitation. Domestos – 16.5 million people gained improved access to a toilet over 2012-2017.
