Kareem El Freshmen Composition 13 September 2011 Outlook #3 The Issue Behind the Politics Meghan O’Sullivan, a former deputy adviser under the Bush administration, spells out the key reasons for a continued presence in Iraq. In the online article, www.washingtonpost.com {September, 11 2011B-3), O’Sullivan points described essentially two main points that compel readers to agree with the sentiment of keeping troops in Iraq. These points are one: Iraq still needs the support of the U.S. troops, and that the U.S. can benefit from the strategic alliance in the Middle East. This is true, the United states has become very unpopular and Iraq is one of the few places left in the area that openly support The U.S. to any extent. The second proposed reason for continued support was that in coming times, the oil industry will see a crisis and Iraq may be the country to help save us all. This is also somewhat true.
