HLTH 349ARTICLEREVIEW4 Access related to insurance coverage and costs cacn be difficult due to the lack of health care coverage in America. Unfortunately, a large number of those with lower income and lower socioeconomic status do not have medical coverage. To improve equity of health care the article states that the United States must first improve the ease of access of health systems auch as health insurance. With the Affordable Care Act there is projected to be 32 million people coveredby health insurance; however, that leaves nearly 23 million uninsured, including undocumented immigrants. To assist with this pit fall the article suggests that we revialtize primary care within the United States and introduce an universal health care coverage to help cover more lower class and unisured peoples. Not only is getting insurance tough for some social groups, but once a person has insurance it is still tough to receive the treatment they may need (i.e. social or mental behavior treatment).Receiving treatment for mental disorders or illnesses is hard with or without insurancedue to most insurances not covering the cost of the treatment or only covering very little of a very expensive necessary treatment. This article aims to push the reduction of mental health cost barriers; however, this is only one of many barriers that come along for being openly treated for mental health disorders as there is a lot of stigma against having mental concerns.
