Personal Property: Personal property is portable by nature. It can be “either tangible or intangible” (Rogers, 2012). Some examples of the tangible property would be a pen, a car, a phone. Some examples of intangible personal property would be stocks and bonds. Real Property: Real property is land and all things permanently fixed to it such as homes and other buildings and they are not capable of being moved easily. Air above and mineral rights are also considered real property. Intellectual Property: Intellectual property consists of both tangible and intangible items such as copyrights, patents, and trademarks. Intangible items are ideas or expressions of ideas. Tangible items are a patent for an invention. Personal, real, and intellectual property are often parts of the whole when it comes to business. While they have similar characteristics and all involve ownership of something, they are treated differently under the law. The way that property changes
