Unformatted text preview: Ryan Curtis 3/16/11 Research Paper Proposal Today there is a lot of concern whether people should be able to carry guns with them in their purses or pockets. If you came from a peaceful world carrying a gun would seem hostile and almost crazy. No one though lives in this perfect safe world so there are people that feel like they need one for protection or to continue illegal acts. This “concealed weapon” controversy is largely due to the second amendment of the Constitution and how people have the right to bear arms. This view was generated over 200 years ago and is outdating, today concealed weapons are not safe for society. People don’t understand how guns can affect a person’s life. Some just view it as an object with no substance; since the Founding Fathers believed that people have a right to them then people should be able to have them. This is not the case though guns are not objects with any meaning, they take lives. This aspect of the gun is what got me interested in this topic. Everyone has heard of the take lives....
