Current Event #3 A controversial question was added to the application for Elmhurst College last week. The new addition included a question asking the student's sexual orientation. They are the first in the nation to ask this in attempt to support LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered) students. The question is optional to answer but if they answer as being a LGBT student, they have the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship. The argument of Mahaire Fraser at Care2 is that at age 18, a student probably wouldn't be 100 percent sure of their sexual orientation. So, if a student declares themselves as gay, is awarded a scholarship, then finds out he is actually straight, is he suppose to give the money back? This article was really interesting to me because no school has attempted this before. Mahaire Fraser's response to it was intriguing as well because
