Unformatted text preview: Current Event 4 In Oxnard, CA, a homosexual middle-schooler named Larry King was murdered in the classroom by his peer, Brandon McInerney. The nine-week trial was claimed a mistrial when the jury was in deadlock. Larry had a crush on Brandon and was spreading it around the school, making Brandon very angry and embarrassed. Larry was very flamboyant, walking around the halls in high heels, wearing make-up and earrings. Brandon snapped and shot Larry during class in front of his peers and his eighth- grade teacher. The jury was stuck between murder and manslaughter, unsatisfying both the family of the victim and the family of the defendant.
