It was 5am when the cab arrived. We placed our backpacks in the trunk and climbed into the backseat. The cab driver could not speak English so we pointed out on the map where we needed to go and then we went off in the darkness down the long windy road to the port. The day before, the woman at the ticket booth warned us that we needed to be at the port no later than 5:20am. The boat would arrive at 5:20 and then leave exactly at 5:30. We were there by 5:10. It was cold by the water this early in the morning. We grabbed hot cocoa and sat with out backpacks still on our backs; ready to board when the boat arrived. We sat in silence, mostly because it was so early, but I was also a little sad to leave Corfu so soon. We arrived in Greece just 4 days earlier and already we met so many amazing backpackers that quickly became our friends. The hostel we stayed at offered a ton of actives that mainly revolved around drinking, so for our health we felt it was time to move on. We were taking a 24-hour boat directly to Venice.
