Chacta Isaacs Brice Professor Lynch English 1 5 September 2011 Run For Life As I approached the track with my parents, all I could think about was failure. Nothing else. Not the sun or the heat. How could they possibly expect me to be able to run three consecutive miles in under thirty minutes? I'm fat, slow, and incapable. As I nervously stretched and stalled, I look over my shoulder and ask my father, “Why do I have to do this again?” He looks down at me in response and says, “Because if you don't then you won't receive your taekwondo lessons. Is there anything else you're wondering about?” “Uh duh!” I rudely replied. “And I meant why do I have to do this? I never saw any three mile run requirements at the dojang. This makes no sense! I quit!” “Sorry, but it's too late for that option. We are already hear so it's now or no taekwondo. Your choice not mine,” he calmly replied.
