CRJ 305 week 1 discussion 1 Think about a type of crime that interests you such as homicide, robbery, and so forth. Which theory covered in your text provides the best explanation and the most effective crime prevention strategy? Why do you think so? Vandalism is a crime of interest and the best theory I could find is routine activities theory which according to (Elliott & Fagan 2017) is a variation that considers both individual and societal opportunities for crime prevention, c rime is more likely when there are motivated offenders, suitable targets/victims, and few guardians. For example, if a person that has been exposed to crime’s early on and wants to vandalize something and the plan everything out like going to someone’s house to break in there car to steal there radio this is someone with routine activity theory. What is general deterrence? General deterrence is a strategy for reducing crime that calls for increasing public awareness

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
