Rutgers University Department of Women’s and Gender Studies 01:988:101:04 Dr. Yana Rodgers Women, Culture, and Society Role Play Assignment In teams of 2-3, research an important event in feminist history, such as the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the forming of the Combahee River Collective, Roe vs. Wade, or the passage of Title IX. Then create a role play with your team and present it to the class on the date of your choosing (see sign-up options below). The role play should last 10 minutes. You may use a script during the role play; you do not need to memorize any lines. A copy of the script should be handed in after the role play as the script will constitute part of the evaluation. Your evaluation will depend on: 1) communication of the characters’ motives, 2) communication of historical content, 3) imagination and creativity, 4) use of non-verbal cues (e.g. props, gestures), and 5) how well you relate a message or lesson. You are strongly discouraged from including long monologues and speeches; your audience will quickly lose interest and your group will get a lower
