COUNTERING ISIS/ISIL 2 Introduction: The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria also refers to as the Islamic State of Iraq, and the Levant is a Sunni jihadist group. Following the epidemic in Syria in 2011, ISI superior Abu Bakr al Baghdadi oppressed Muhammad al Jawlani with organizing Al Nusrah Front in Syria to battle the Asad government. ISI produced Jawlani with capital, workforce, and command, while ANF did not fragrantly grant its connections to Al Qaeda. In 2013, Baghdadi combined the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. ANF and Al Qaeda jurisdictions refused to become an alliance, and Al Qaeda commander Ayman al Zawahiri ordered Baghdadi to confine his achievement to Iraq. In 2014, Baghdadi declared the operation of Islamic situations and modified its name to the Islamic State.
