1. Activation, persistence, and intensity. Drive theories asserted that behavior is motivated by the desire to reduce internal tension caused by unmet biological needs, such as hunger or thirst. Incentive theories proposed that the behavior is motivated by the “pull” of external goals, such as rewards, money, or recognition. The difference is that one is because of needs that you have for survival, while the other is for personal achievement. 2. The desire to direct your behavior toward excelling, succeeding, or outperforming others at some task. Faraela has a high need for achievement, which when challenging tasks come up, she will strive and focus on the goal. She might display original thinking, seek expert advice, and value feedback about her performance. Andre has a low need for achievement, he may be motivated by fear of failure, incuriosity, lack of ambition, spontaneity, lack of responsibility, and combativeness. They may succeed, but each will have a different complication of reasons for what and why they are doing it. 3. As Hideki walks up to Joao, his heart will start pounding, his walking and talking will become fast paced, he’ll start sweating, stuttering while talking, and become conscious of everything around him.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
