Brian Lubnow HW 9 1. In Fig. 1A how long does it take for plasma leptin to reach steady-state levels in the leptin-treated mice? 10 days 2. In Fig. 1A, is the leptin treatment sufficient to greatly elevate plasma leptin? Justify your answer by describing the data and/or mentioning numbers. I do not think that the treatment is sufficient to elevate plasma leptin because according to the chart, the plasma levels appear to level out at around 50ng/mL. If the levels stayed this high after the ten day period, then this appears to be a significant amount of plasma. 3. What group of mice have the highest overall blood glucose levels? The mice with the PBS pump. 4. Does the amount of food consumed impact blood glucose levels in a diabetic mouse? Justify your answer by describing the data and stating where you found this data. The amount of food does appear to impact the blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. The mice with the highest blood glucose levels consumed the most food. 5. Does the amount of food consumed impact plasma free fatty acid levels in a diabetic mouse?
