Hyperglucagonemia - a state of excess glucagon secretion 3. hepatic - pertaining to or affecting the liver 4. acylcarnitines - a molecule involved in metabolism 5. lipogenesis - the process by which simple sugars such as glucose are converted to fatty acids 6. endogenous - produced, originating or growing from within 7. glycemic - pertaining to or suffering from glycemia (the presence of an unusual amount of glucose in the blood) 8. atherogenesis - The formation of fat deposits on the inner lining of blood vessels. 9. Ketoacidosis - enhanced production of ketone bodies due to alcohol or diabetes. 10. Glucagon - a hormone secreted by the pancreas; stimulates increases in blood sugar levels in the blood 11. Cholesterologenesis - the biosynthesis of cholesterol 12. Ketonuria - excessive amounts of ketone bodies in the urine
