Binghamton University Fall 2011 MW 6:00 – 7:25 PM PM EB Q23 MGMT 503 Statistical Analysis for  Management Instructor: Dr. Rebecca Jestice E-Mail:  [email protected]  (preferred  method of communication) Phone: 607-821-1993 (after 9AM and before 9  PM, please) Office: AA 364 Office Hours: T 1:00 – 3:00 W 2:45 – 4:15 and  by appointment Overview The main objective of this course is to develop basic statistical methods and their applications that are necessary for managerial decision-making. Critical thinking and problem solving skills will be developed through homework assignments. Team skills will also be developed through work on some in-class exercises. Course Components Exams There will be two exams. The tentative dates for the exam are as follows: October 31, December 7. Assignments Assignments consist of individual homework. Assignments will be posted and submitted on Connect. There will be homework every week. Due dates will be posted on Connect. You’ll have at least 5 days to complete each homework assignment. In-Class Exercises During the semester, there will be in-class exercises that will be done in teams. Team exercises have been designed mainly to practice application of the statistical methods, to promote the learning of students from each other and to practice working in a team. They
