TOPIC Your Reaction to your Performance about the Topic Preparation What did you do before you taught your lesson to make sure your lesson would be effective and run smoothly? I made a checklist to make sure all materials necessary where complete and placed in the adequate place. This involved printing the necessary worksheets and homework passes that each student would be using. I checked the technology being used and made sure the lesson video was correctly playing. Set Describe your “set” (the way you opened your lesson). How did you begin your lesson in order to gain student interest? Was it effective? Why or why not? Students observed a three minute video which reviewed the size comparison of the planets. This was something that students loved because the video was very descriptive. The video used a football field as an allusion of the universe and several objects as a demonstration of the relative size of each planet compard to one another. Student were very engaged in the video and bombarded me with questions afterwards, there was a smooth transition through out the whole lesson.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
