Identify at least 10 types of classroom reinforces. Include examples of reinforcers that encourage appropriate behavior. Which are the most effective type of reinforcers and why? Many classroom reinforcers can be used by teachers. According to Beth Ackerman (2007) there are many optimistic and deleterious types of reinforcers. Some negative reinforcers a teacher might use are verbal admonishments, and rule reminders. However, a teacher revoking a student’s privilege, isolating the student from others, can be even harsher reinforcers. These severe reinforcers can sometimes cause children to act out even more. It is significant for teachers and students to have a relationship built on mutual respect. According to our textbook student’s positive motivation will have an augmentation if they see a teacher as a gentle and credulous person rather than an enemy. Students are more likely to follow rules and engage in classroom activities if they feel safe and appreciated by the teacher. (Burden, 2017).
