Srijaya Negara Bukit Besar Palembang 30139 Email : [email protected] Abstrak Permintaan sumber daya energi setiap harinya semakin meningkat, terutama untuk bahan bakar fosil atau energi terbarukan seperti minyak, gas, dan batubara. Peningkatan ini tidak juga disertai dengan produksi bahan bakar fosil. Cara yang bisa yang bisa kita lakukan untuk mengatasi masalah ini salah satunya menggunakan energi terbarukan seperti biopelet dari serbuk kayu yang didukung oleh teknologi pengeringan dalam proses pengobatan. Proses pengeringan adalah langkah yang sangat penting untuk menghasilkan bahan bakar biomassa dengan kualitas baik, pengeringan ditujukan untuk mengurangi kandungan air dalam bahan baku biomassa dan meningkatkan nilai kalor. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat sebuah prototipe rotary dryer untuk biomassa, dan menghasilkan produk kering untuk biopellets. Diawali dengan disain struktural alat yang akan dibuat dan menganalisis sistem termal dengan variasi pengeringan (30 menit, 45 menit, dan 60 menit) pada suhu konstan 60 0 C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengeringan dengan waktu yang sangat lama, penurunan kadar debu kayu akan lebih besar. Namun, efisiensi termal Tampilkan proses pengeringan ini masih cukup rendah karena ada besar kehilangan panas. Kata kunci : Biomassa, Biopelet, Rotary Dryer, Kehilangan Panas Abstract Demand for energy resources is increasing every day, especially for fossil fuels or non-renewable energy such as oil, gas, and coal. This increase is not also accompanied by the production of fossil fuels. The way that can we can do to overcome this problem is utilize renewable energy such as Biopellets of sawdust that is supported by drying technology in the treatment process. The drying process is a very important step to produce biomass fuel with good quality, drying is intended to reduce the water content containing in the biomass feedstock and to improve the calorific value. The purpose of this research is to create a prototype rotary dryer for biomass, and produce a dry product for biopellets. Beginning with the structural design tools that will be created and analyzed the thermal system by varying the drying (30 minutes, 45 minutes and 60 minutes) at a constant temperature of 60 0 C. The results showed that drying with the longest time, the decrease of the moisture content in the wood dust will be even greater. However, the thermal efficiency of the drying process show is still quite low because there is a large of heat loss.
