The definition of Style is the combination of form and composition that makes a work (of art) distinctive. Medium or mediums (in plural form) refers to the materials from which a work of art is made. The art work that I’m interested in is the “Wall Painting With Horses, Rhinoceroses, And Aurochs”. The images are easily identifiable, for the painters have transformed their memories of active, three-dimensional figures into two dimensions by capturing the essence of well-observed animals. So its style is defined as realism. The art work mediums are made from dirt or charcoal mixed with spit or animal fat painted on limestone. According to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, the “Wall Painting With Horses, Rhinoceroses, And Aurochs” is painted in fresco style. Fresco, comes from the Italian phrase “buon fresco” ("really fresh"), is method of painting water-based pigments, on freshly applied plaster, usually on wall surfaces.
