Left side controls movement on the right side of your body as well as the ability to process language. The right controls movement on the left side of your body and is involved in spatial relations, understanding music, expressing and reading emotions, and evaluating others faces. 2. Who pioneered research into the idea of splitting the brain into two hemispheres and describe his research with animals. Enter what he did on your “Key Names in Psychology” handout. The research was pioneered by Roger W. Sperry. In his research he rewired a cat’s brain so that each eye only transmitted information to one side of the brain. The cat was given a maze to climb through to get food with one eye patched up. After the cat had mastered the maze Sperry remove the patch and covered up the other eye and the cat had no idea
