INTRODUCTION Hydrazine, N 2 H 4 can produce hydrazinium salt with the same method as ammonia to produce ammonium salt. For hydrazine, there are two types of salts that may be produced which consist of cation [N 2 H 5 ] + or [N 2 H 6 ] 2+ . In this experiment we used the volumetric analysis method that based on redox reaction. The reaction was between iodate ion, IO 3 2- and hydrochloric acid solution. Then potassium iodate solution which the concentration is known already was titrated with hydrazinium ion from the given salt. MATERIALS Chemicals: Hydrazinium sulphate salt ([N 2 H 5 ] 2 SO 4 or [N 2 H 6 ]SO 4 ), chloroform, hydrochloric acid (HCl, 6.0 M) and potassium iodate solution (KIO 3 , 0.025 M). Apparatus: Graduated cylinder (50 ml), conical flasks / Erlenmeyer flasks (250 ml) with rubber stopper and burette (50 ml).
