Please post in a 3 paragraph response In the reading of “Rethinking Schools” one part that I found interesting was the chapter titled “Distorting Latino History: The California Textbook Controversy.” I found this so interesting because I think it is insane that textbooks can portray such racism in materials that students are learning from. I think that text should not disregard other cultures since we live in a country with many other cultures than our own. In the reading they talked about how many textbooks, k through 12, are filled with a Eurocentric viewpoint. These viewpoints can be seen in the texts books when authors purposely dominate the images in the books with photos of whites.
