Texas Tech University MCOM 3380 Protocol Social Media Discussion Spring 2011 Introduction: We asked everyone to be here today to discuss social media, its use, and your use for it. We really appreciate each of you taking part and providing personal input. We find this topic to be very interesting and we think you will as well. The discussion is meant to be casual and fun. Your feedback is very important as we try to better understand different perceptions about social media. Each of you was selected to participate because you are male non-mass communications undergraduate students in your junior or senior year at Texas Tech. The discussion should take approximately two hours. As it is a fun topic, the time should go by quickly. Your participation is voluntary and you may stop at any time during the discussion. You do not have to answer any questions that you do not want to answer. We will record this session so that we do not miss anything that is said and to ensure that proper credit is given to those that are speaking. The session is confidential and no one other than those of us present and our professor will know who said what. After we document your comments the tape will immediately be destroyed so that no one will be able to associate your comments with your voices. Please speak loud and clear when you are talking so that we do not miss anything you say.
