Unformatted text preview: Math 20 Final guideline Winter 2010 Overview • The final will be held: Monday March 15, 2010 710 pm. • The final is comprehensive and covers everything in the course that we discussed (see exceptions below), with an emphasis on the material since the second midterm. The exceptions of material that will not be on the final include: Newton’s method and the numerical integration techniques. • Expect 89 problems, including a true/false question. You should know the statements of any important theorems exactly. • No calculators or notes are allowed for the exam. • These formulas will appear on the exam exactly as shown: sin π 4 = 1 √ 2 = cos π 4 sin(2 x ) = 2sin( x )cos( x ) cos(2 x ) = cos 2 ( x ) sin 2 ( x ) = 2cos 2 ( x ) 1 = 1 2sin 2 ( x ) Recommended preparation: • Do the final set of homework problems (HW9) early in the last week of class. • Review your midterms and homework (solutions are posted)....
