1.In my personal opinion, B&O is taking away the design “processes” that large companies have. As a design project engineer at a large simulation company, all the processes that large corporations have can really stifle creativity. From the reading it would seem like a form of decentralization. 2.The first element, work specialization, refers to dividing work activities into separate job tasks. The second, departmentalization, is how jobs are grouped together, which can be one of five types: functional, product, customer, geographic, or process. The third— authority, responsibility, and power—all have to do with getting work done in an organization. Authority refers to the rights inherent in a managerial position to give orders and expect those orders to be obeyed. Responsibility refers to the obligation to perform when authority has been delegated. Power is the capacity of an individual to influence decisions and is not the same as authority.
