ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY2Environmental TechnologyEnvironmental technology is a broad subject. It covers everything from hydraulics, water distribution systems to noise pollution. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) program; an equation for computing the water flow rate; methods for treating water and features of a solid waste landfill; hazardous waste onsite remediation technologies; purpose of an electrostatics precipitator and an equation to compute the decibels (dBA) from two machinery will be discuss.ETVIn 1995, the ETV program was formed with the assistance of the EPA. The ETV verifies the monitor, prevent, control and clean up pollution. Furthermore, the ETV gives credible performance data, in which assist regulators and users with environmental technology. They accomplish all this by developing testing protocols and verifying the performance of technology that can protect human health and the environment (Ashley, Harten, Hartzell & Waits, 2015). Thesole purpose of the ETV is to provide credible and quality data on environmental technologies. After retrieving the data, the ETV provides it to different entities, such as: purchasers, vendors and the public. By sharing the data, ETV expects to reduce any confusions regarding the performance of new technology, lower the cost of regulatory compliance and help remove real and perceived barriers to innovative technology that is used in the marketplace (Ashely et al., 2005). The ETV also monitors ammonia and mercury with sensors and monitors. With assistanceof other agencies, like the Unites States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the ETV collects data from agricultural activities and waste from livestock in which ammonia is produce. These activities can have an effect not only in the environment, but in human health effect as well. Lastly, mercury continuous emission monitors are utilized to obtain more knowledge of mercury

There are different phases to measure the emissions of mercury in different locations, but all the testing is to gain the knowledge of where mercury is coming from. All the data that is collected is uploaded online for the general public to learn from it.
