The student will analyse each period’s social and cultural influences and the effects such elements have had on the literary pieces of the time. They develop a greater appreciation for literary pieces in discovering how such pieces educate generations in the future. COURSE OBJECTIVES: To enable students to: 1. gain general knowledge of and appreciation for literary masterpieces; 2. gain a greater understanding of world literature by their being exposed to a variety of cultures, issues and values through various literary masterpieces; 3. increase their ability to analyse various written works through different
