Affirmative action: The policy that takes factors including “race, color, religion, sex or national origin” into consideration in order to benefit an underrepresented group, usually as a means to counter the effects of a history of discrimination. Why am I showing you this definition today? Our company has been accused in the past of discrimination. Even though we were not guilty of it, it will forever stain our reputation. We should implement it into our everyday policies in order to show that we are committed to our employees. By focusing on the happiness of our employees we will be better able to be a successful company. Our company is an Equal Employment Opportunity employee. We have advanced many people to higher positions. We have not only advanced men but also women, not only Caucasians but also African Americans, not only straight people but also LGBT’s. We have a very diverse culture within our company and each and every one of them is just
