Amy Corcoran ENG 352-TASK 1 Task 1 Facebook, Myspace, and Linked-In are all major social networks that people use to share information on the internet. Even though most of the information people post on these sites is public, it should not be used against them in the working world. Certain sites have different uses, and these uses should be considered when searching for one’s employee. Facebook’s mission is “giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected” (Incompatible 6). Does this sound like information a company should use to judge a person’s work ethic? Although facebook does have a section for work experience and education, this site is used for connecting to social groups with common interests. Facebook does provide privacy settings, but how do you expect to share and connect to a world with limitations? Myspace is a place for utilizing creative skills and having fun with HTML design (Boswell 3). Unless a specific occupation is looking for an open portfolio on website
