Summary Thomas Anderson is a computer programmer by day. At night, he is a hacker known as Neo. One night, a woman named Trinity seeks him out and introduces him to Morpheus. Morpheus gives him knowledge of the real world, a wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines which live off of their body heat and imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. Neo learns that he is “the one” from a prophecy stating that the coming of “the one” will bring the destruction of the Matrix and the freedom of humanity from their oppression by the machines. He must fight the agents, super powerful computer programs devoted to stopping human rebellion.
