Compare and contrast two change theories, and determine which theory makes the most sense for implementing your specific EBP project. Why? Has your mentor used either theory, and to what result? Change means making something different. It may be planned or unplanned. Unplanned changes bring about unpredictable outcomes, while planned change is a sequence of events implemented to achieve established goals. Various change theories have been developed to explore the phenomena in diverse organizational settings. One of the change theories is Kurt Lewin's change theory which is widely used in nursing and involves three stages: the unfreezing stage, moving stage and refreezing stage. This theory examines behavior as a product of driving and restraining forces, which work in opposing directions (Kritsonis, 2005). Unfreezing is necessary to overcome the strains of individual resistance and group conformity. This means that at this step, the organization must get prepared
