Math 170-010 Homework 8/22 Fall 2011 Goals: Graph a function. Given input, compute output. Given domain interval, compute change in output. Given output, determine corresponding input. Exercises: These problems will be turned on on Friday. They must be turned in in the order they are assigned. Work them neatly and in order so that you can turn them in without having to recopy. 1. A population of rabbits is measured by the function R ( t ) = 100(2 t/ 5 ) where t is measured in months and R is measured in rabbits. (a) Graph R ( t ) on the domain 0 t 15 months. Be sure to label your graph correctly. This includes at least: Name of the input axis. (This could a word or a variable). Units on the input axis. Tickmarks on the input axis, with enough of them numbered so that scale is apparent. All of the above for the output axis. Sketch of the graph that appropriately conveys domain and range. (b) Find
